Schooliye trip 2019 – Gulmit – Hussaini – Upper Hunza

After spending couple of tiring days, it was time to say good bye to Fairy Meadows. It was nice to see our driver waiting for us at the Raikot Bridge.

A visit to Northern Areas will be incomplete without Hunza. Surrounded by majestic mountains, cool weather, peaceful atmosphere and welcoming people, thats Hunza for you.

As it was peak season, we decided to skip Karimabad, find a reasonable hotel some where in Upper Hunza and explore the near by villages next day. We stayed at Silkroute Lodge, Gulmit, which turned out to be a good decision.

Next morning, I woke up early and walked up to the village. I was looking for local food, a quick search took me to the Bozlanj Cafe which is run by the village ladies.

After the breakfast, we had some pictures at the hotel.

Hussaini

After Gulmit, we left for the Hussaini village which is famous for its suspension bridge built over the Borith Lake. We had to follow the signs to reach the suspension bridge. If you are crossing the bridge, you will need to buy the ticket. The bridge is built and managed by the local community, although its a highly recommended activity in upper Hunza but do it at your own risk!

Hunza Gojal is home to the most friendliest people on the planet.
